Privacy & click data
Whaslink records clicks on published WhatsApp and Multi-agent links. For Multilink pages, it records page views and clicks on each button. Records include the time, IP address, approximate country, city and region, browser user agent, and referring page when available. Browser and device labels are inferred from the user agent.
When the hosting network does not provide a city, Whaslink sends the visitor’s IP address to IP2Location.io over HTTPS to estimate it. Successful results are reused for repeat clicks on the same link. IP-based locations are approximate and may be unavailable or inaccurate.
Link owners can view these records in their private dashboard to measure link traffic. Whaslink does not read WhatsApp conversations or know whether a visitor sends the prefilled message.
Client accounts use username and password sign in to control access to saved links and analytics. An administrator can set each client’s link limits and review their links.
For the Whaslink website itself, we count views of the home, privacy, and sign-in pages. Website statistics are stored as daily totals by page, referring domain, approximate country, browser, and device type. We do not store visitor IP addresses, full user agents, or individual website page-view logs for this purpose. The administrator can see these totals. Daily totals older than 400 days are removed when new website traffic is recorded.
Link owners should inform their visitors about tracking where required. Dashboard previews do not add clicks or page views. Unpublishing a normal link stops new clicks; deleting a link removes its stored analytics.
